International partnerships and businesses
Created in 1916, thanks to Auguste Rodin’s donation of his works and his collections to the French state, the Musée Rodin opened in Paris in 1919. This iconic institution recently underwent an extensive renovation and reopened in November 2015.
Rodin the Alma Project is a public-private partnership between Akim Monet Fine Arts, LLC and the Musée Rodin, Paris.
Popcorn Gallery Los Angeles is the curatorial branch of Akim Monet Fine Arts, LLC. After a decade in Germany, where Akim Monet founded and operated the renowned Side by Side Gallery Akim Monet GmbH on Berlin’s famed Postdamerstrasse, he moved his practice to Los Angeles in 2018, where he continues to develop his focus on thematically curated exhibitions that juxtapose modern and contemporary art.
Since he founded a contemporary art centre in Switzerland 30 years ago, Akim Monet has successfully conducted business in the art trade from Paris to London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo; and he worked in New York for a decade, privately and as the director of sales for North America of legendary Picasso dealer Jan Krugier.
In addition to his profession as gallerist and art adviser, Akim Monet has developed a successful photography practice. Widely exhibited, his work is featured in international private and institutional collections and on the digital platform Akim Monet Photography.
